“In 1993 I won the lightweight judo world title. That title meant the world. Reaching a life-time goal like this stays with you for a life-time. But, I so nearly didn't do it. Really my sensei, Don Werner won that match - and you can read what I mean in this one of my blogs: The Doubts, The Sensei and Being the Best in the World."
“Since then I have wanted to give back to judo by inspiring kids. To date, I’ve published over half a million children’s judo magazines and worked with hundreds of judo clubs (your club can subscribe here) to promote junior judo.
My latest project is to supply dojos world wide with handy templates they might print up and use at their club to teach technique from the core ten throws all judoka will know to advanced judo, tachi-waza and ne-waza.
My hope is these children might step onto the tatami and find out for themselves what an incredible sport judo is."
"Judo changed my life for the better. Lessons I learnt on the tatami as a child live with me today."
